The Canada-wide day of action for Rights, Regularization and Status for All is just two days away! Right now, the federal government is deciding how many migrants and undocumented people to include in their proposal to regularize and grant permanent residency. It’s a crucial moment to push for ALL migrants to have full and permanent status in order to gain equal rights.
On Sunday, September 18 at Christie Pits Park (750 Bloor St W, Toronto) starting at 2 PM, our communities will come out in force to demand Status for All. Will you be part of this historic moment?
Yes, I will sign up for a local action.
Don’t forget to bring your family and friends to this kid-friendly event! It will be a demonstration filled with inspiring performances and powerful stories of survival and resistance showing why Status for All is so urgent. As mentioned in the Toronto Star earlier this month, “Permanent immigration status would bring undocumented residents out of an underground economy rife with wage theft and abuse, make health care and other social services more accessible, and help address record-high job vacancies” [1]. The immigration system is broken and this is our opportunity to fix it.
Our leaders put together this amazing video highlighting Workers’ Action Centre members who have struggled without status. Please watch, share widely, and meet us on the streets this Sunday!

The fight for justice is a long one and you are needed every step of the way. Please sign the Status for All petition and be part of the movement. On Tuesday, September 20, join Justice for Workers at the online Decent Work Organizing Meeting to see how people across the province are taking action to ensure that all of us have protection, from Status for All to 10 paid sick days and better Employment Insurance.
