On Friday, WAC members delivered 400 stories of wage theft to four MPPs in Toronto. We have been out speaking to workers about their experiences of wage theft across the city. On Friday we delivered 100 postcards to each MPP documenting workers stories in their riding..
These postcards represent 100 individuals and 100 families that are affected by wage theft in each riding. Each postcard represents a person who told us about not getting paid wages, overtime or holiday pay, or who told us that the minimum wage is not enough to live on and must be increased.
We asked each MPP for their support in ensuring the government’s committed funding for proactive enforcement is in the 2013 budget and to help bring forward new protections against wage theft.
Here are some pictures from the day!
