Thank you for always having workers’ backs. Because of you, the 11th annual Workers’ Bowl was a huge success. We’re so excited to bring more workers into our space in 2024 to provide workers’ rights workshops, training, and a safe place to grow.

In 2023, the Workers’ Action Centre became home to many important events and programs:
- We trained an amazing team of Senior and Community Leaders from our membership. We’ve watched these worker leaders flourish throughout the year as they self-organized outreach events and workshops to build our workers’ movement.
- At our monthly Defending Our Rights workshops, we empowered hundreds of workers in taking the first step toward standing up to bad bosses.
- Our Social Fridays, organized by our Senior Leaders and other members, transformed WAC into a community hub for all workers to come together, have a bite to eat, and talk openly about issues impacting workers.
- And with many workers struggling with low pay, wage theft and more, WAC also became a space to distribute food, clothes and appliances for workers and families most in need.
We are so proud of Workers’ Action Centre members and the leaders who spring up year after year. And we’re glad you see their value, too. If you didn’t get a chance to contribute to our joint fundraiser with the OEERC*, we hope you’ll consider sharing on Giving Tuesday next week. Tax receipts are available for donations of $10 or more.
*The Workers’ Bowl is a joint fundraiser between WAC and the Ontario Employment Education & Research Centre (OEERC), which supports community leadership development. All donations go to the OEERC Education and Leadership Fund for Workers in Precarious Employment to create collaborative community leadership development and educational projects with WAC.
